About resizing & cropping images

Resizing changes an image’s pixel dimensions; cropping keeps only the region you want. Drag any of the eight handles to reframe, lock a fixed aspect ratio (1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and more), or rotate and flip — then re-encode to PNG (lossless), JPEG, or WebP with adjustable quality. When you export a transparent image to JPEG, a fill colour replaces the transparency instead of turning black. Everything runs on an HTML canvas inside your browser, so your images never leave your device.

How to use Image Resizer & Cropper

  1. 1Select one image, then move or resize the crop frame or choose an aspect-ratio or social preset.
  2. 2Set the output width and height; lock the ratio if the dimensions should change together.
  3. 3Choose PNG, JPEG, or WebP, review the live result, then download the resized image.

Frequently asked questions

Which images can I resize?
This tool accepts image files your browser can decode. The file never leaves your device, so there is no upload limit — the only ceiling is what your browser can hold in memory.
What is the difference between cropping and resizing?
Cropping removes areas outside the selected frame. Resizing changes the pixel dimensions of that selected area. This tool can apply both in one export.
What happens to transparent areas when I export JPEG?
JPEG does not support transparency, so the tool fills transparent pixels with the selected matte color. PNG and WebP can retain transparency.
Do social presets only change the aspect ratio?
No. A social preset sets both the crop shape and the exact published pixel dimensions for that preset.
