Frequently asked questions
- Does my full card number leave my browser?
- No. The Luhn check runs locally, and only the first 6–8 digits (the BIN) are sent to our server — never the full number.
- Does a BIN lookup authorize or charge the card?
- No. It only identifies card metadata from the BIN and can run a local Luhn check on a full number. It does not contact the issuer or process a payment.
- What is a BIN?
- The Bank Identification Number — the first 6–8 digits of a card number that identify the issuing scheme, type and brand.
