About text to speech

This tool offers two on-device modes. Browser voices use the Web Speech API and play audio without creating a download; available voices depend on your system. Local HD downloads the deployed Supertonic v3 model, generates audio in the browser, and exports a 44.1 kHz WAV file.

How to use Text to Speech (TTS)

  1. 1Type or paste up to 1,500 characters and set the text direction.
  2. 2For Browser voices, choose an installed voice and adjust speed and pitch, then select Speak; select it again to stop.
  3. 3For Local HD, download and prepare the on-device model once, then choose language, voice, and quality steps.
  4. 4Generate the Local HD result, listen to it, and download the WAV file.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download audio from both modes?
No. Browser voices play through the Web Speech API and have no download action. Local HD generates a WAV file that you can preview and download.
Why do browser voices differ between devices?
The operating system and browser supply the available voices. Names, languages, quality, and offline availability therefore vary by device.
What does Local HD download?
It downloads the deployed Supertonic v3 model assets, roughly 380 MB in the default manifest, and caches them on the device. The mode remains unavailable when those assets are not deployed.
Which languages does Local HD list?
The interface lists English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Hindi, Indonesian, Dutch, Polish, Japanese, and Korean.
What does the Local HD quality control do?
It changes the synthesis step count from 2 to 10. More steps can increase processing time; they do not change the 44.1 kHz WAV sample rate.
