About GPA
Your grade point average weights each course grade by its credit hours: multiply each grade’s points by its credits, add them up, and divide by the total credits. Letter grades map to points (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on). Everything is computed in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
How to use GPA Calculator
- 1Choose the 4.0 or 5.0 scale.
- 2Add each course with its letter grade and credit hours, or bulk-add lines as Name, Grade, Credits.
- 3Review the weighted GPA, total credits, and quality points as rows change.
Frequently asked questions
- How is weighted GPA calculated?
- Each grade’s point value is multiplied by its credit hours. The quality-point total is then divided by total valid credit hours.
- Which letter-grade mapping is used?
- On the 4.0 scale A and A+ equal 4.0, A− equals 3.7, B+ equals 3.3, down to F at 0. The 5.0 scale raises the corresponding passing values by one point.
- What happens to incomplete bulk rows?
- A missing or unrecognized grade defaults to B, and missing or invalid credits default to 3. Review imported rows before relying on the result.
