About the countdown

Pick a future date and time and the countdown updates every second. The copied link includes the event name and target time, so opening or bookmarking that link restores the countdown; the tool does not keep a separate list of events in your browser.

How to use Event Countdown Timer

  1. 1Enter an optional event name and choose a local date and time, or use the next New Year preset.
  2. 2Read the live days, hours, minutes, and seconds remaining; no Start button is required.
  3. 3Copy the share link to include the event name and target value in the URL.

Frequently asked questions

Which timezone does the countdown use?
A datetime-local value is interpreted in the timezone of the device opening the page. The shared URL does not include an explicit IANA timezone or UTC offset.
Will two people in different timezones see the same deadline?
Not necessarily. Because the shared value has no timezone, each browser interprets the same clock reading locally. Use a separate timezone-aware meeting tool when one global instant matters.
What happens after the target time?
The counters stop at zero and the page shows the finished state. It does not count upward from the event or send a notification.
Is the event saved in the browser?
No. It remains in the current component state unless you use the share link, which carries the name and target in its query parameters.
